I keep making the same mistake. By knit to end of row, m1 k1. Slip stitch marker then m1 and knit to the next stitch marker. The right front seems right. But the left front does not.
20 days ago1 AnswerA: When you work your Top Down Cardigan, the instructions have you placing your markers on the stitches using a locking marker (and not between the stitches with a circular marker) that are in between, with the M1's on either side. After you knit the stitch, you should move the marker to the stitch you just knitted. If you are consistent on this type of marker placement, you should be OK. If you are putting a marker on the cable, you will want to M1, slip marker, then K1, M1, and that should keep the marker in the right place.
20 days agoHelpful?Q: For rows 5 and 6. Can you give explicit instructions where to put stitch marker to get the diagonal for the leaves to slant left and right. And where there are 28 stitches for the back. Does that stay 28 or also increase
a month ago1 AnswerA: The Top Down Knit Cardigan for Child/Kids features a raglan sleeve construction. In the 3rd row, the instructions state to place four locking stitch markers on specific stitches. These are the raglan stitches which will have increases on either side of the stitch when knitting the yoke. Alternately, you can slip stitch markers around each side of this stitch; you will just need to remember to M1 before slipping the first marker, K1, slip second marker, M1. 3rd row: K14 (15-15-17). M1. K1 (place marker on last st). — Right Front of cardigan M1. K13. M1. K1 (place marker on last st). — Right Sleeve of cardigan M1. K28 (30-30-34). M1. K1 (place marker on last st). — Back of cardigan M1. K13. M1. K1 (place marker on last st). — Left Sleeve of cardigan M1. K14 (15-15-17). 94 (98-98-106) sts. — Left Front of cardigan Each of the Front panels will increase one stitch per increase row (+1 stitch) while each Sleeve and the Back will increase by two (+2 stitches) per increase row. We hope you find this additional information helpful.
