It went from flat and oval to wavy and bulging on the edges. Is there really nothing stitched into the chain spaces along the straight edges in this round?
29 days ago1 AnswerA: We are happy to help with Rnd 9 of the Table Lace Placemat. In Rnd 9, do not put dc in any of the chain spaces until you get to the curved sides. When it comes to the curved sides, you may be able to play with the stitches more to get it to lie flat. Ultimately, we do recommend following the pattern as it is written and doing some severe blocking when finished. It will open up and lie flat upon blocking.
26 days agoHelpful?Q: in the sc, ch4 sc in round 5, is the second of these into the NEXT chain space
a month ago1 AnswerA: Yes, you’re correct. When working the repeat in Rnd 5 of the Table Lace Placemat, you will work the stitch combination of (sc, ch 4, sc) into each chain space around.
a month agoHelpful?Q: In round 5 which space are you cripocheting in
2 months ago1 AnswerA: In round 5, you are crocheting into the space formed by chain 3 in the previous row of your Table Lace Placemat.
2 months agoHelpful?Q: I finished 2 table lace placemats. Both were extremely wavy. I blocked it and that took care of most of the problem. I was wondering if I could eliminate some of the increase stitches or something like that to take care of the wavy problem. Suggestions?
8 months ago2 AnswersA: I ran into this same issue, despite changing my hook size at the beginning to make sure I matched the gauge. I feel like there must be an error in the pattern. It was perfectly flat through the first lacey area, but immediately after that, it became extremely wavy and remained that way through the end.
