Description
Free Intermediate Knit Afghan/Blanket Home Décor Pattern
This quilt-inspired knit blanket is constructed using an arrangement of stitched blocks that are joined together. Created in our soft and fuzzy Red Heart Super Saver Brushed, we saturated this fabric with a warm, earthy palette of colors. You'll knit 30 blocks separately, then join them in alternating directions to create your throw. It's a satisfying Pattern for practicing garter stitch and a short row technique to create the diagonal color changes. Spruce up your décor or give it as a comforting gift.

I’ve stared the blocks and wonder if there is a stitch that works well to join the blocks together. Mattress stitch comes to mind, but thought I’d ask. Thank you.
4 months ago1 AnswerA: As the maker, you are left to choose the seaming technique on the Soft Focus Graphic Knit Blanket. Although mattress stitch may be a good choice, you may prefer a whip stitch or laying the pieces side by side to create a flat seam. We suggest trying different techniques and pick the one that gives you the most satisfactory results.
4 months agoHelpful?Q: I'm excited to start this but am having trouble with the directions. Do you knit each triangle separately then sew them into a block? Then sew blocks into strips and strips into blanket? Thanks.
a year ago1 AnswerA: For the Soft Focus Graphic Knit Blanket, each block is knit in four colors, changing colors as you are knitting to create a block containing 4 triangles. There are six different color combinations, with different quantities specified for each color combo. There is one set of instructions for how to knit the block, followed by instructions showing which color to use when. The assembly diagram shows how the different blocks go together. Though it is up to you how you put those blocks together, the pattern instructs to sew six blocks into a strip, and then sew the five strips together. I hope this gives you the clarity you need to get started. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions
a year agoHelpful?Q: My Mother is struggling with Triangle 2 instructions. When she gets to the ‘3rd Row: K1. W&T’ there is nothing to knit for the 4th Row. Do you have a video for this pattern we could follow or anything to assist her?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Hello and thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately we do not currently have a video for this pattern but I'll still be able to assist you. After your mom has knit 2 rows (each row being 33 stitches), she'll knit 1 stitch and then w&t the next one. Since she's completed the first triangle I'm assuming she has a solid grasp of the w&t so I won't touch on that. After she turns the work, she will have 1 stitch on the left needle and 32 stitches on the right needle. Row 4 will simply be knit 1. All your stitches will now be on one needle. Row 5 then asks you to knit to one past the wrapped stitch. In this case that means your mom will knit 3 stitches. I went ahead and cast on the 33 stitches to double check that it works and it does. Just be patient. Triangle 1 worked the short rows down the length whereas triangle 2 works up it. It's just the reverse of the first one and while it's a bit fiddly for the first couple, once your mom has done two or three of the w&t sets, she'll fly through the rest. I hope this gets your mom back on track!
