2 years agoI've made both sizes, the smaller size is best for pretty much anybody. Everywhere we go people ask where we got them and if I sell them. Instead of only medium weight yarn for the ribbed brim, I use medium weight wide yarn paired together with Bernat velvet in white (med weight as well).Yes, I recommend this product.

10 months agoIt tells you to start with 6sts and K1, M1 and you will have 12 sts. But that is wrong. you will have 9 sts. All the sts numbers showed are wrong, however, it does make a great hat once you get your head past the wonky counting.Helpful?Response from Yarnspirations:10 months agoConsumer CareWhen knitting your Santa Hat, the instructions are for k1 and M1, all the way around. Since you start with 6 stitches, and an M1 happens between the stitches and after EACH stitch, you will be doubling the number of stitches from 6 to 12. If you used a different increase, like kfb, then your counts would come out differently. The numbers are correct as written. Here is a video of an M1 for reference. https://www.yarnspirations.com/blogs/how-to/how-to-make-1?_pos=1&_psq=make+1&_ss=e&_v=1.0 -

Questions
Start typing your question and we'll check if it was already asked and answered.1 - 2 of 2 QuestionsQ: I don’t see anything here about how much yarn to purchase. How many yards of each color?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for reaching out. The pattern calls for 1 ball(235 yards) each of 9560 Wine/Gold A and 1360 Aran/Gold B of Red Heart Holiday yarn(worsted weight). You can find this information in the pattern instructions located at the very end of the left panel. Please note that this particular yarn has been discontinued, but you can use any #4 worsted-weight yarn and adjust the gauge accordingly.
a year agoHelpful?Q: Please clarify the pattern. When it states continue in the manner after round 12. Does that mean to continue round 1 to 12?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Continue in this manner refers to how often you will be increasing (every 6 rounds) and how many increases you will be working (6 increases every increase round). Each increase round, you will be working one more stitch between each increase. The next few rounds will look like this: Rounds 13 - 17: Knit Round 18: [K4, M1] around - 30 stitches Rounds 19 - 23: Knit Round 24: [K5, M1] around - 36 stitches You will continue in this manner until you have 78 (or 90) stitches depending on the size you are making before proceeding to the next section. We hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us at inquire@yarnspirations.com if you have any further questions.
