2 years agoI have made two of these and they are absolutely gorgeous. Easy to crochet and the pattern is perfect in every way. You can use whatever size crochet hook to achieve the size you want. I followed the pattern with the hook size and I am totally happy. I made these two in memory of my precious dogs who have passed on. Thank you for a beautiful free pattern to bring a smile to my face each time I look at these stockings.Yes, I recommend this product.

3 months agoI made this stocking this week. I enjoyed making it and how the pattern turned out. I do not think the pattern is for a beginner and would have liked the pattern to be a bit more detailed - I wasn’t sure how to best sew all the pieces together. But otherwise the pattern was easy to follow and I loved how the stocking turned out.Yes, I recommend this product.

2 years agoThis pattern looks well written but the gauge is way off when I try to start it. If using the hook size it says (5mm) I get a 3” gauge when using a 9mm hook I get the right gauge but then the pattern is really wholly.Helpful?Clarity of Pattern, 4.0 out of 5Response from Yarnspirations:2 years agoConsumer CareThank you for your feedback. As we all work a little differently, it's quite normal to have to use a different hook size to achieve the pattern gauge. We do recommend doing a swatch of minimum 5-6" square to get a true sense of your gauge as the first couple of rows as well as the edges can sway the results. We hope this helps! -

3 months ago1 AnswerA: You can find his tutorial here: https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-pet-stocking-patterns/
3 months agoHelpful?Q: I'm newer to crocheting and reading patterns. I chose this pattern as it said it was easy skill level but I'm getting confused on the instructions for row 1 where are the 67 single crochets meant to be?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the Red Heart Dog Paws Christmas Stocking. This unique stocking is worked in two panels from the center-out and then seamed together. Instead of turning your work and working back in the opposite direction, you will work on the backside of the chain. If you make a few chains to observe them, you will see the top side of the chain has a nice braided look with “V” stitches. If you turn the chain over, you will see there is one loop on the backside which resembles a dash. Notice that the instructions for Row 1 tell you to work 3 sc into the last chain. This will help you naturally turn the corner to the backside of the chain where you will see the loop on the backside. It might help you to mark the backside of the first and last chains with locking stitch markers so you don’t miss them. We hope this helps you well on your way!
a year agoHelpful?Q: One side of the pattern seems to start curving while the other doesn’t, is this supposed to happen? I’m at around line 5 and tried all different hooks, yarns and gauges etc but outcome still the same
2 years ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for your question about the Dog Paws Christmas Stocking. It sounds like you've already tried a number of different things to get control of the fabric. Blocking the stocking when finished crocheting can often be a remedy when fabric doesn't behave while hooking. Here' a link to a video about blocking. https://www.yarnspirations.com/video-mb-wet-blocking-and-steam-blocking-acrylic-yarn-video-11.html I hope the helps you move forward and create a lovely stocking. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions. Happy Crocheting.
