More advanced than intermediate but beautiful!

I have made one stocking using this pattern and am almost done making my second stocking with this pattern. I love the pattern. It’s easy to follow and get into a groove with. I do think the pattern is a bit more advanced than intermediate. I’ve been crocheting for 25 years and I don’t think I would have wanted to tackle this pattern when I was more intermediate.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Horrible instructions

I loved the pattern thought it was a beautiful stocking. I thought it was great that there was a video in case I needed it. I read the review of the 1 star rating and I'm in complete agreement with that person. This is definitely an expert stocking. If you have never done cables this is not the project to start with. I went to the video but I couldn't see where he was placing his needle. It was very vague. Very frustrating that a kid can do this and an adult is unable to. My kids were laughing about it, but agreed it was very vague and hard to follow/see. I had high hopes of creating a stocking for my new daughter-in-law to hang at the house but she had to pick a different design til I figure this one out.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Not accurate

This pattern does not make any sense and the stitches don't add up. It says to chain 4 and then DC in 4th stitch when you do this you don't have enough room for the pattern and the tutorial video that is attached isn't even the same stocking.

Thank you for contacting us regarding the Crochet Cable Stocking. The tutorial video actually does cover the cables for this exact pattern. The cover shot when the video is not playing doesn’t quite look right, but the content of the video is correct. We have tested the first row to be sure it works out, and it does. Let’s take a look. When you finished the foundation row, did you end up with 40 dc? If so, you’re right on track. Turn the work to prepare for the first row. At the beginning of the 1st row, chain 4. You will work 1 dc into the 4th chain from hook. (This has increased the stitches in this row by 2 so far.) dc in next the next 2 sts, 3/3 RC, Fpdc around each of next 3 dc, (take care that you don’t accidentally work around the post previously worked for the 3/3 RC) dc in next 2 sts, [1/1 LC, dc in next 2 sts] twice, (work the stitch pattern in the brackets once and then work them over again) 2/2 RC, 2/2 LC, [dc in next 2 sts, 1/1 LC] twice, (work the stitch pattern in the brackets once and then work them over again) 2 dc in last dc (top of turning ch - this increases by 1 more stitch), turn—43 sts. We hope this helps you on your way. It may help to use locking stitch markers on the outside cross stitches to be sure you don’t work them twice. Expect the work after the first row to look a little mangled due to the crossing stitches, but after you have worked a few rows, the fabric evens out and begins to actually look like something useful. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance. Happy hooking!
