a month agoRidiculous pattern, I have started the medium size for a 9kg clipped Tibetan terrier rescue, this is about two to three inches too small to go around her neck, and nowhere near her upper chest, I think you need to tell us exactly where to measure and give an indication of weight or breed of dog as she is a small dog who won’t fit a medium pattern by a significant amount, the instructions are pretty confusing. And you also need to state whether this is UK or US crochet terminology. 33cm goes round her neck,49 around her chest at widest point.Helpful?Response from Yarnspirations:a month agoConsumer CareThank you for your feedback regarding the Fab Crochet Dog Coat. We are sorry you have had such difficulties. All Yarnspirations patterns are written in U.S. terminology. The Fab Crochet Dog Coat is written to accommodate four sizes according to the chest measurements of the dog the coat is intended for. Be sure to measure at the widest part of the chest. This is similar to measuring for a human garment. SIZES To fit chest measurement S 10" [25.5 cm] M 13" [33 cm] L 16" [40.5 cm] XL 24" [61 cm] To ensure the best possible fit, we recommend double checking your gauge and comparing it to the pattern’s gauge. If your gauge does not match, the garment can be too large or too small. GAUGE 7 sts and 6 rows = 4” [10cm] in pat We hope this information helps you with your dog coat!1 out of 5 stars.Pattern is too hard to decipher
a year agoWife got this pattern this morning and it is terrible. She has been crocheting for 10 years and neither her nor I could make any sense of this pattern once it gets to the section for the leg openings. It says to "pat across" without ever clearly stated what the pattern to do is. Is it 1 sc 1 DC? That was our guess. Then it says to "Work 1 in pat..." what does that mean? Just stop being lazy and type out the steps correctly in a way to people can actually follow them. It makes people more likely to come back for their next pattern. No, I do not recommend this product.
Helpful?Quality of Product, 1.0 out of 5Value of Product, 1.0 out of 5Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareWe are sorry to hear about your frustration with the Fab Crochet Dog Coat. The pattern repeat is to sc in the dc, and dc in the sc stitches. Since multiple sizes are included, using phrases such as continue in pattern can often make it easier to follow the instructions. We're sorry this did not work out for you. We appreciate that you took the time to share your experiences with this pattern.1 Ratings-Only Review

a month ago1 AnswerA: No, you will not be increasing when working the leg openings for your Fab Crochet Dog Coat.
a month agoHelpful?Q: I don’t understand instructions for leg openings. Can I find a demo tape for this part of sweater
a year ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for contacting us regarding the Bernat Fab Crochet Dog Coat. We are happy to help you with the leg openings. Let’s begin by looking at the 1st Row. Leg Openings: 1st row: (RS). Pat across 3 (5-7-9) sts. Sl st across next 5 (5-5-7) sts. Ch 1. Pat across 23 (29-37-55) sts. Sl st across next 5 (5-5-7) sts. Notice the sections which instruct you to work slip stitches, Sl st across next 5 (5-5-7) sts. You will not work these stitches in the next several rows as these form the leg openings. You will see that you have an outside edge section, a middle section between the legs, and another outside edge section. Each of these sections will be worked with a different ball. For the first edge, you should already have the working yarn attached. For the middle section, you can ball up the length of yarn from the opposite end of the ball which you think would be appropriate for the size you are making. For the other outside edge, you can work from the opposite end of the ball. You will attach these at the beginning of the next row. Please see below: Leg Sections: Work 1 (11⁄2-11⁄2-21⁄2)" [2.5 (4-4-6) cm] in pat, ending with RS row. You will be starting with a WS row, working each section one at a time across the row. Turn work. Work across the RS row just the same. Work as many rows as indicated for the size you’re making. Next, work the Joining Row where you will chain across the leg opening gaps to form just one row, working with one ball of yarn again. Be careful with the tension of your chain stitches here as they can get too tight if you’re not careful. I have underlined these chain sections to show how they’re consistent with the slip stitch sections you have previously worked to form the leg openings. Joining row: (WS). Joining row: (WS). Pat across 3 (5- 7-9) sts. Ch 5 (5-5-7). Pat across 23 (29-37-55) sts. Ch 5 (5-5-7). Pat to end of row. I hope this was a helpful guide for you. Please let us know if you need further assistance.
