a month agoI like the Blanket Extra for my projects. It’s heavy enough to create substantial blankets, but not too heavy to work with. I’ve crocheted blankets for myself and a few for gifts.Helpful?Anonymous- Verified Purchaser

a year agoI just made an incredible KING sized afghan with this yarn. It's so soft and squishy and is basically a weighted blanket without any extra "stuffing". I've made many things from this particular yarn and I hope it never gets discontinued!Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions
Start typing your question and we'll check if it was already asked and answered.1 - 9 of 9 QuestionsQ: How many skeins do you need for twin size single crochet by hand do you need?
10 months ago1 AnswerA: Unfortunately, I am not able to answer that question, as we do not have a pattern that provides that information. You can work up a 12" x 12" square and then weigh the square. Then, multiply the amount of ounces by the number of squares required for the size of blanket you wish to make. If you have a throw pattern, you can use this rough guide to change the size. When you wish to change the size of the blanket you are making, there is a quick guide to follow when purchasing your yarn. This tip is based on purchasing the same yarn as what is listed on the pattern. Double bed - 2 times what the afghan pattern calls for Queen bed - 3 times what the afghan pattern calls for King bed - 4 times what the afghan pattern calls for For example, if your afghan pattern calls for 7 balls of yarn and you want to make a king-size blanket, you will need 7 balls x 4 = 28 balls of yarn for the pattern you have chosen. We only have one twin size blanket pattern that I could find. https://www.yarnspirations.com/search?q=twin+afghan But it does not use this yarn.
10 months agoHelpful?Q: When will gold be back in stock, and is there a shade of orange that will be made?
10 months ago1 AnswerA: We are sorry to hear that you cannot locate your desired product. Over the past couple of years, we, like many other industries, have faced an increase in demand for our product coupled with supply chain challenges. At this time, we don’t have a definite replenishment date for you. However, we would like to reassure you that we are working to replenish our stock. STOCK ALERTS are now available on y.com! Perhaps you would like to leave us your email in the “Email when in Stock” field so that you are notified as soon as it becomes available. We appreciate your business and thank you for your patience, while we work diligently to replenish our complete line for our consumers!
10 months agoHelpful?Q: Are lot numbers all the same for yarn if I order 10 balls?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Unfortunately, we are not able to match dye lots. We do try, but depending on demand, the warehouse can go through several dye lots in less than a week. If you cannot find the dye lot you were using, the best thing to do is to take some of what you have to the store and try to get the best match. Look at it in natural and artificial light if possible. Work alternating rows with the two different dye lots to lessen the effect of knitting with a second dye lot. Not all stores carry all of our yarns in all available colors so you will need to check with the individual store. You can order any of our yarns in any color online.

a year agoHelpful?Q: Hello I am trying to find a dark Brown or chocolate colored bernat chunky extra yarn. Why don’t you make this color?

a year agoHelpful?Q: How much bernat blanket extra for a twin size throw blanket
a year ago1 AnswerA: That really depends on a variety of things like the pattern, your gauge, etc. If you wanted a point of reference, our Bernat Steep Diagonal Knit Rib Blanket, measuring 52" by 61" uses 6 of the 300g balls. Marly Bird has a video that shows you how to determine this on your own: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swsoUuKQOes
a year agoHelpful?Q: Would this gauge of yarn work for a finger knit blanket? I have used your extra thick yarn, but I love the colors you in this collection.
2 years ago2 AnswersA: Yes, it will. Be aware that it might have a looser weave to the final product. If you find it's too open, you could hold the yarn doubled and achieve a thicker fabric that way.
2 years agoHelpful?Q: Has purple mavis been discontinued?
2 years ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for reaching out. We were not able to find a record of the color Purple Mavis in the Bernat Blanket Extra product line. Can you please reach out to us at inquire@yarnspirations.com so we can further investigate for you? If you have a label for this color, please feel free to include an image. Thank you!
