    Q: Can I use brunette baby blanket yarn with this pattern? When I crocheted 31 stitches, it only goes about 2/3 of the way around my head. Is this right?

    A: Thank you for your interest in this pattern. The 31 chains at the start determine the length of the hat, including the fold. The number of times you repeat row 2 will affect the hat's width. If you've repeated row 2 until you reach a length of 20 inches and it still doesn't fit your head properly, you can always add more rows to adjust the size to your preference.
