Tip

The throw this month is made in Super Saver, but the sample is done in Soft.

The 2-tr Cl (2 treble crochet cluster) seems difficult, but it is a variation of working two treble crochet stitches into the same stitch.

To start the stitch, yarn over twice, then put the hook into the indicated stitch and pull up a loop. You will have four loops on your hook.

TOTM-Dec-1

Next, yarn over and draw through two loops on the hook. Then yarn over and draw through two loops on the hook a second time. You will now have two loops on the hook, and have partially worked a treble crochet stitch.

TOTM-Dec-2

Start over, and yarn over twice, then put the hook into the indicated stitch and pull up a loop. You will have five loops on your hook: 4 of the loops are like the first step, and then the fifth hook is from the partially-completed treble crochet.

TOTM-Dec-3

Yarn over and draw through two loops on the hook, and then do it again. You will have three loops on your hook.

TOTM-Dec-4

Finally, yarn over and draw through all three loops on your hook.

The two-treble cluster is in the middle of this picture, in a row of regular treble crochet stitches.
