11 days ago1 AnswerA: The ears for the Square Hare to Crochet are worked in the round to provide nice edges of the ears and to provide body for the ears as well. While there are not alternate instructions for the ears, we are happy to explain their construction. Though you begin with 10 chains, you will increase the stitch counts in the 2nd and 4th rounds so that, when you fold the ear flat before sewing to the head, the increases are at the outside edges of the ear. Decreases in the 15th and 16th rounds are worked evenly so the tops are nicely rounded. Before you sew the ears to the head, you will flatten the ears out. Be sure to seam both layers of the base of the ears (foundation chain edge) to the head. We hope this description is helpful to you. If you still do not like the ears, feel free to take creative liberties of your own. After all, you are the maker and you get to customize your pieces however you wish. Happy stitching!
