7 months ago1 AnswerA: You will need to read your knitting and adjust your first stitch to maintain the Irish moss stitch through the decreases on your Lapel Knit Cardigan. You can decrease by knitting or purling the last two stitches together. This will cause your edge stitches to change. Although your first stitch in your rows will change from that specified in the pattern, the pattern of two knit stitches stacked over two purl stitches should continue, switching off every two rows. We find it useful to look at the stitches beyond the decrease and then count back to determine the starting stitch. We hope that with all these tips, you are now successfully working forward. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance. Happy knitting!
