    Q: In have not been able to find a weight for this yarn but if I use a 4 would the starting chain be different. In other words, what is the original stitch count?

    A: Bernat Maker is a bulky, #5 yarn. Using a #4 yarn will make a smaller blanket, but you can add foundation chains in multiples of 22 for a wider blanket.
