5 months ago1 AnswerA: You will draw up a loop in next 3 sc, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops. It appears there is a typo in the abbreviations. It should read: dec2 = draw up a loop in next 3 sc, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops.
5 months agoHelpful?Q: I am completely confused on the woman’s hat. The hat is way too big for the woman’s head! I even tried using a thinner yarn. What am I doing wrong? I think where it switches to Rows is where I got confused.
5 months ago1 AnswerA: The 40 stitches are necessary for the hat to go over the top of the head. the hat is worked to go over the head perpendicular. This means that the face opening will be where the rounds 6-11 are and the neck opening will be where the head went down to six and then increased back out for the body. If you prefer to use fewer increases, you can, but it make sure they are evenly distributed. Also make sure you are working sc in each of the first 2 stitches, then 2sc in the third stitch, and repeat that across 10 times for a total of 30 stitches. Then the next rows will be worked even, and then the stitches will be decreased. Feel free to email inquire@yarnspirations.com with the pattern name or link and any further questions.
