    Q: How much yarn would I need to make a 5x7 sampler quilt using 5 colors?

    A: An educated guess would be 4 skeins each of 5 colors, and you would make 6 columns and 8 rows of squares. The guess is from the fact that is calls for 1 each to do one of these blankets and the size you want is 4 times bigger.
