a year agoThis is a gorgeous afghan. I have made it twice, once with Caron Simply Soft yarn and once with Red Heart Soft. Both times it was too short by far for my tastes so I would add a lot more initial chains. I wouldn't worry too much about getting the right number of chains because you can increase or decrease without too much problem. It is a very time-consuming pattern and dense, especially with the Red Heart Soft. With that yarn, I used a K hook and it was also narrow but surprisingly heavy so very warm.Helpful?Skill LevelIntermediate5 out of 5 stars.Easy pattern to follow!

15 days ago1 AnswerA: The Aran Isle Throw is worked in long rows on the vertical rather than side-to-side. If you would like a shorter throw, you can reduce stitches in multiples of 6 stitches. However, if you would like a narrower blanket, you can just reduce the rows you work.
