11 months agoThis reminded why I dislike K2 P2 ribbing. It is entirely too easy to screw the ribbing up, which I did on row three. So I will start over.Helpful?3 out of 5 stars.NOT an adult sized hat! Fine for little kids.
a year agoYes, it's easy enough for most beginners, and I like the ribbed, cuffed, and pompom'd design. You can make it in two colors as shown or all in one color; the instructions accommodate both. However, the size is listed as "One size to fit adult." This is NOT the case. If you put this on an average adult head, it will be so stretched out that it will not be very warm and will not be able to cover the ears. You may notice that the picture does not show the hat modeled by anyone, so it's hard to tell how wrong the pattern's sizing information is. This hat would fit and work very well on my 3-year-old grandson (and I'll be giving mine to him) but if you want a comfortable, functional hat sized for an adult, I suggest making the basic pattern twice and sewing them together with two side seams for a much better adult-size hat. Then add your pompom as usual. You may also want to add a couple of inches to the length so you can have a nice, deep rolled cuff. Otherwise it will be about an inch or so.Helpful?Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareThis pattern has been updated and is available for download.Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareThank you so much for your feedback. I have sent the pattern back to the design team for review. I do agree that 70 stitches is not sufficient for this gauge. We are so sorry for the frustration. The cast on should be 90, based upon my calculations. -
