a month ago1 AnswerA: Please check your gauge when making your Hoodie Shawl. It should be 18 sts = 4" (10 cm); 18 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Garter St, blocked. Gauge is critical to getting the finished garment size.
a month agoHelpful?Q: on r2 it says to k to marker then K1 in double yo, but he marker is after the double yo? also is that one stitch into the double yo or the conventional k1,p1 to work the double yo? trying to knit 1 stitch into both loops seems nearly impossible?
5 months ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for contacting us regarding the Hoodie Shawl pattern. You should have two markers placed. “Cast on 3 sts. K1, place marker, k1, place marker, k1.” In Row 1, you should have worked two different double yarnovers: Knit to marker, double yo, slip marker, k1tbl, slip marker, double yo, knit to end – 2 sts increased. If so, Row 2 will work out fine. Row 2: Knit to marker, k1 into double yo, slip marker, p1, slip marker, k1 into double yo, knit to end. Repeat Rows 1 and 2, 11 more times (13 garter ridges). Careful of those sneaky YOs; they like to slip off the needles. If this is the case, you can simply pick up the dropped yo and work as instructed. If you forgot the second double yo, it would be best to tink back and work it into the knitting.
5 months agoHelpful?Q: What am I missing with this pattern? I did rows1&2 11 times them 3&4. Then these rows 5 more times. Didn't even use 1 whole skein of yarn and no where near the finished measurements. I used size 9 needles and red hear soft yarn
