Great for keeping warm. Wonderful to work with.

After suffering some medical issues several years ago, our daughter's ears are extremely sensitive to cold so I made an ear flap hat for her to wear while walking her dog. Upon her return she informed me that her ears never felt so warm. I'm now in the process of making a scarf from the yarn with the hopes of following up with a jacket which I'm sure I can depend on to keep me nice and warm. This is the neicest and warmest yarn I have ever worked with and as long as it's available, hope to make more things from it. It also arrived in a very timely manner.

    It works!

I made a poncho in this yarn and washed it in fabric softener. It is soft! I went outdoors and it slowly warmed up to a comfortable temp. I went indoors and it cooled back down.

    Love this soft yarn

I have purchased many skeins and have not had any piling or shedding. I would recommend this yarn to anyone that knits or crochets. If you do get a skein that has pilling or shedding return it to where you got it and they will send you a new skein.

    I love this yarn!

I've made 2 scarves, both knitted, and one hat, crocheted, from this yarn. I found it very easy to work with, and not stiff at all. I gave one of the scarves to my best friend who has a farm and must care for animals every day, even in the cold Maine winter. She loves it, and says that she could notice the difference in temperature.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Heat wave yarn 14° warmer

I put my yarn outside in the bright sun in 22°F Iowa winter. Skeptical about the heat generating properties. I used a Bluetooth bbq grill temperature probe. It was warmed up 14°F above the temperature of a normal ball of redheart sitting right next to it. I am using it to make mittens and hats for the homeless. (Willing to take all unwanted heatwave)

Heat Wave - made my first two braided headbands

My new favorite yarn, just telling people about it is fun. Theyre like what?! No way ! What cool idea!! Wish they had more colors and thicker yarn. Maybe in time Red Heart will do this.

Q: Where can I buy Heat Wave Red Heart Yarn?

    1 Answer

A: We are sorry to share that this product line has been discontinued.   We would like to assure you that extensive research goes into how well a product is selling before such a decision is made.   We have checked our inventory and no longer have available stock to offer.  You may wish to try locating some at retailers like Michaels, Joann Stores, or WalMart, and also consider searching eBay.com, Etsy.com, and Amazon.com, as well as Ravelry stashes.  Many sellers post our products for sale on those sites and inventory is updated frequently.
