2 years agoThis tree skirt turned out beautifully, but I did have a bit of a problem with the instructions for the inner ring. I believe a few “chain 1s” may have been omitted. I just tried to make sure that I ended up with the correct number of stitches for each step before proceeding to the next. I used a 5.5mm hook and my finished tree skirt if approx. 57” in diameter. The Red Heart shades used for this skirt are gorgeous together and my photo doesn’t really do them justice! I plan to use this same combination of colors to make a Christmas afghan. (Just an FYI: Mike from the Crochet Crowd has an instructional video for this skirt posted on YouTube where he uses different yarn as well as a different method of construction. )Yes, I recommend this product.

2 years agoI’ve had to rip this out and restart three times. Eventually I found a photo online where someone successfully made this. Going back and forth picture to pattern it’s starting to work out, but as op says above, it’s WAY too big around the inner rim - and I am using a size G hook! I’m going to keep plugging away, because the final project will be very cute, but if someone could convert this into a visual chart that would be super helpful. A very helpful tip, don’t forget to pay attention to front and back. If the pattern isn’t worked this way everything goes out of alignment. It’s too bad because this would look better if all the rows were front-facing. Flipping a granny back and forth seems wrong to me? It’s a lovely final project, just go slowly and pay close attention to the photo. No, I do not recommend this product.

2 years agoThis is a very festive looking tree skirt, but I am 11 rows into the inner circle of the pattern, and something is VERY wrong. The diameter of the inner circle (at the start) is nearly 20" - WAY too big to look right around a Christmas tree trunk/pole. Second, there seem to be too many increases each round - it is not laying flat all all. If I let it naturally lay flat, the inner circle diameter is OK (about 8"), but then it overlaps itself like 4 times - WAY too much leftover. Going to have to rip it out, re-work the pattern myself, and start over! No, I do not recommend this product.
