Q: Pattern error?? I have 6 extra stitches on the end my first row of the back, size Medium.

    1 Answer

    A: Let's take a closer look at the first row of the medium size of the Honeycomb Aran Pullover. (P1. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 1 time. >> 1+6=7 stitches P2. Tw2R. P2.>> 2+2+2=6 stitches (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. Tw2R. P2) 2 times.>> (6+2 +2+2)x2=24 stitches Work 1st row Panel Pat B. P2. Tw2R. P1.>> 13+2+2+1=18 stitches Work 1st row Panel Pat C. P1. Tw2R. P2.>> 34+1+2+2=39 stitches Work 1st row Panel Pat B.>> 13 stitches (P2. Tw2R. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 2 times.>> (2+2 +2+6)x2=24 stitches P2. Tw2R. P2.>> 2+2+2=6 stitches (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P1) 1 time.>> 6+1=7 stitches This adds up to 144, the number of stitches for the medium size. We hope with the breakdown of stitches you are able to get yourself back on track.

Q: For the alternating rows (row 2) of b and c panels, the description says to knit knit stitches and purl purl stitches as appear. However the diagram on pg 5 of the pattern implies the reverse -- start row 2 of panel b with knit, for example. Please help!

    1 Answer

A: When working the Honeycomb Aran, you will need to keep track of whether you are working on the right side (public side) of the fabric or the wrong side (inside). When referring to the chart, the blank squares represent stitches, which are Knit on the right side and Purl on the wrong side. The squares with the dash represent stitches which are Purl on the right side and Knit on the wrong side. The 2nd and alternate rows are wrong side rows. This means you will knit the stitches you purled in the previous row and purl the stitches you knitted in the previous row. However, because you have turned your fabric and are now looking at the opposite side, you will see knit stitches present, which you purled in the previous row. You will knit the knits and purl the purls. The chart can be deceiving because it is a flat representation of a single side which doesn’t get flipped. This is why each symbol specifies knit or purl on the RS or WS of the fabric. We hope this helps you make sense of the chart and written instructions!

Q: On the pattern I have, the second time panel A row one is worked says knit panel A twice which is 12 stitches then to P2 Tw2R which makes 16 stitches. No mention of repeat and missing a P2.Sould this really say knit panel A P2.Tw2R.P2 hence 130 not 134

    1 Answer

A: Please ensure you have downloaded the pattern on the website which is the most up to date pattern. The count for XS is 134: Here is row one with counts for the XS size. 1st row: (RS). (P1. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 0 (1-0-1-0-1) time. 0 stitches P4 (2-2-2-4-2). Tw2R. P2. 8 stitches (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. Tw2R. Q: How do I access the updated version from August 2024 please? Does the new version have the correct stitch count . The XS version says increase the stitches to 134 but adding up all the pattern stitches on the back it only comes to 130.

    1 Answer

A: This is the most up to date pattern. The designer updated in July. The graphics team finished the artwork update and the file was uploaded to the site in August. They are all the same file. Here is row one with counts for the XS size. 1st row: (RS). (P1. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 0 (1-0-1-0-1) time. 0 stitches P4 (2-2-2-4-2). Tw2R. P2. 8 stitches (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. Tw2R. P2) 2 (2-3-3-4-4) times. 24 stitches Work 1st row Panel Pat B. 13 stitches P2. Tw2R. P1. 5 stitches Work 1st row Panel Pat C. 34 stitches P1. Tw2R. P2. 5 stitches Work 1st row Panel Pat B. 13 stitches (P2. Tw2R. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 2 (2-3-3-4-4) times. 24 stitches P2. Tw2R. P4 (2-2-2-4-2). 8 stitches (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P1) 0 (1-0-1-0-1) time. 0 stitches Checked and double checked and this adds up to 134 stitches. We recommend the use of stitch markers to divide the stitches so that you stay on track.

Q: Why does my twisted rubbing look totally different from the picture? Is everything knitted and purled through the back loop? The pattern says k1tbl, P1 (RS) or p1tbl, K1 (WS). Where it says K1 or P1, I'm knitting or purling as normal.

    1 Answer

A: When working on your Honeycomb Aran sweater, knitting or purling through the back loop will twist the stitch and tighten up the ribbing. One of the stitches in the column will be worked through the back loop, and one will be regular. Please knit or purl the stitches as specified. We also recommend that once you finish the sweater, block it to help the stitches relax.

Q: how many yards of yarn were used for size large

    1 Answer

A: 1940 Yards are recommended for the large size if you match the gauge and use the same yarn. Substituting yarn can change that estimate.

Q: A suggestion for the pattern. For the Back, can the pattern be changed from "P4 (2-2-2-4-2)." to "P1 4 (2-2-2-4-2)." And similarly for the Wrong side row. For the large size, I thought I had to have 8 purl stitches, whereas, it is only 2 purl stitches.
