4 years agoThis yarn is so soft , great for baby blankets or hats !! It may be hard for crochet beginners to work with , I love this yarn highly recommend for your next projectHelpful?5 out of 5 stars.Awesome... velvet plus
4 years agoThis is the best yarn I've purchased love it so much so soft wish my sheets were so softHelpful?5 out of 5 stars.Love it
4 years agoThis yarn was a lot softer then I expected. It’s a lot softer compared to the other velvet yarn they sell in a weight 4. I suggest this yarn because it’s perfect for fall and winter. I only had one problem: when you crochet a lot of purple fuzz got everywhere but besides that I loved it! -crochetingworldsHelpful?4 out of 5 stars.Weaving in ends doesn’t work with this yarn
4 years agoThe feel of this yarn is unbelievably luxurious. Simple stitches look amazing. The biggest drawback is that when you weave in the ends, the lovely fluff comes off and you are left with the base which is a white string. The only solution I found was to hand sew with thread loose ends and to join with a magic knot.Helpful?Anonymous4 out of 5 stars.Sultry
4 years agoSoft and warm!! I love it. Just wish there was a bigger selection of colors. Don’t choose a complicated pattern because It will be hard to see your stitches. I did a corner to corner blanket so I didn’t have to count. It’s beautiful.Helpful?3 out of 5 stars.Sheds
a year agoSheds like crazy. Very pretty but it’s all over me by the time I’m done crocheting. A bit nervous of giving this blanket as a gift by the mere fact that it sheds a lot.Helpful?Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareWe would be more than happy to assist you with your product concerns. Questions & Answers
Questions
Start typing your question and we'll check if it was already asked and answered.1 - 4 of 4 QuestionsQ: What is the best way to add another skein
3 months ago1 AnswerA: To join a new skein of Bernat Velvet Plus Yarn, tie a knot between the old and new yarn, leaving about 6 inches of yarn on each side for weaving. This gives you enough to secure the yarn without it coming undone. Once you've finished your project, tie another knot at the end of the yarn to keep it in place, and then weave both ends securely into the stitches to hide them. This method will help ensure a smooth, seamless transition and keep your work looking neat. Always try to switch skeins between rows to avoid visible joins in the middle of your project.
3 months agoHelpful?Q: How do I stop the shedding
a year ago1 AnswerA: Chenille products, such as the one you are working with do tend to shed more than woven products. The way the fabric is constructed is what makes it so soft but is also the reason why it sheds. Chenille is made by actually cutting threads and fraying the end. Below are some helpful tips when working with Chenille products. Why does the Yarn Shed? There is not enough twist to hold all of the threads together. It is a very common problem with Chenille and similarly produced yarns, which have a pile (raised, hair-like fibers) worked around a core yarn. Still, shedding can happen with other types as well, particularly with fuzzy yarns like angora, mohair, and alpaca. How to Handle Shedding While Knitting? Yarn that sheds while you are knitting can be a nuisance, and it is challenging to deal with the problem in the middle of a project. Being prepared for the mess can help—one thing you can do is to cover your lap with a cloth as you knit, so at least the threads are contained. A lint roller, brush, or packing tape can be used to remove fibers from your clothing or couch. How to Address Shedding on a Finished Project? Once you complete your knitting, the best way to combat shedding yarn is to wash the project (if a washable yarn by following washing instructions for the product). Usually, hand washing in a gentle detergent, and drying the piece with the air-dry setting of your dryer will work. You might want to place your project in a zip-top pillowcase while it's in the dryer to contain the shed fibers. Usually, this initial washing will help reduce the amount of shedding, if not eliminating the issue. We hope you have found this information helpful!
