a year agoWhat a great pattern! I am a pretty good knitter, but when I saw this was an Easy pattern, I was doubtful because it looked pretty complicated. Glad to be proven wrong, it's an easy 2-row repeat and once you master the K1Below, it's a breeze.Helpful?Clarity of Pattern, 5.0 out of 5Sedona, AZSkill LevelEasy5 out of 5 stars.Squishy and Cuddly and amazingly easy
2 years agoWhat a fantastic pattern! Once I figured out how to knit under the stitch, it was really easy. It's cuddly and, as the name implies, squishy. I love it!Helpful?Clarity of Pattern, 5.0 out of 5 -

Questions
Start typing your question and we'll check if it was already asked and answered.1 - 2 of 2 QuestionsQ: I need this to be wider and longer any suggestions? Trying to make one final afghan for each of my kids.
6 months ago1 AnswerA: The gauge for your Squishy Fisherman's Rib Knit Blanket is 11 sts and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking stitch. The pattern will work with any odd number of stitches cast on. You can use the gauge to help you determine the right number of stitches, and simply knit until you reach your desired length, knowing that you still have seven rows of garter stitch to finish the blanket.
6 months agoHelpful?Q: If the cast-on edge is 48", and you knit the pattern until it measures 48" the blanket is going to be a square. The pattern says it should be 38 by 48. Is this correct? The fisherman stitch should be vertical not horizontal.
a year ago1 AnswerA: The gauge for the Squishy Fisherman's Rib Knit Blanket is 11 stitches over 4" in stockinette stitch. For a cast on of 113 stitches, that gives 41". Since the Fisherman's Rib will be a bit narrower than that, the cast on edge should be closer to 38", and the instructions state to knit to 46" followed by an additional 7. This should get you close to the planned length of the blanket of 48". And you are correct that the Fisherman's Rib should be vertical. I hope this gives you the clarity you need to proceed.
