2 days agoThe C2C blanket is beautiful, but it is not easy! Pros: Really a gorgeous blanket once done. Gauge consistent block to block An 8x8 for chess or checkers players Border typically not needed Pattern easy to remember Cons: Each block in each row requires a ball of yarn. This is not a project you can hold in your lap unless you want to untangle 8 balls of yarn each time you turn your WIP. That technical complexity is why I (a 50+ year crocheter)rated this a 3.Yes, I recommend this product.

3 months ago1 AnswerA: Absolutely! Bernat Fluffee is a soft and plush yarn, making it an excellent choice for a baby blanket. Its gentle texture is kind to the skin, creating a cozy and cuddly feel that is perfect for babies. Please note that while Bernat Fluffee yarn is not Oeko-Tex certified, it remains a wonderful option for soft and snuggly baby projects.
3 months agoHelpful?Q: If we need to wind small balls of the colors to be used, one each for the separate areas of color, does this mean we need 45 bobbins?
5 months ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for your interest in this pattern! No, you won’t need 45 bobbins! While it may seem like you need a bobbin for each small square, you can significantly reduce the number of bobbins required. Here’s a simplified breakdown: Initial Setup: - 1 Black Bobbin: For the first black square. - 2 White Bobbins: For the next two white squares. Increasing: As you progress across the pattern, you will gradually add more bobbins. For instance, to create the next three black squares, you will use the existing black bobbin and add two new ones. By the time you reach the center, you will have 9 bobbins for each color (black and white). Decreasing: After reaching the center, you will start to decrease the number of bobbins in a similar manner, working your way back to the opposite corner. Following this approach can considerably reduce the number of bobbins needed. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or need additional clarification!
5 months agoHelpful?Q: Please advise as to yarn changes. For example, in the diagonal row with the dark and light color, it doesn't seem possible to carry the light color to complete the square. Am I missing something or does the yarn need to be cut and restarted?
7 months ago1 AnswerA: When working on the Crochet C2C Checkered Blanket, the notes in the pattern suggest: "When working from a chart, wind small balls of the colors to be used, one for each separate area of color in the design. Start new colors at appropriate points." As such, the best solution is to use a new ball of yarn for each separate area of color in the design. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
