2 years agoI made this blanket in Red Heart SS Icelandic as requested by my sister-in-law and she loved it. I enjoyed making it as well. ❤️Yes, I recommend this product.
Helpful?Clarity of Pattern, 5.0 out of 54 out of 5 stars.Beautiful gift
a year agoThis blanket turned out beautiful and was a stunning wedding gift. The various hook sizes made it a little more complicated, especially since I crochet tight, but with a little trial and error it turned out fine.Helpful?Clarity of Pattern, 4.0 out of 53 out of 5 stars.Hook size, what hook size?
a year agoI'm an experienced crocheter and this pattern was difficult to follow, I love the idea, but the different size hooks throughout isn't consistent or clearly denoted, the ends of the blanket are wonky. Make sure you count almost every row. there is a couple youtube videos that go through row by row and teach you how to do some of the stitches. I wouldn't do this againHelpful?Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareThank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy this pattern. Questions
Start typing your question and we'll check if it was already asked and answered.1 - 10 of 11 QuestionsQ: I would like to make this throw wider can anybody suggest how to add stitches to achieve this
15 days ago1 AnswerA: The Aran Hearts Throw is worked in long rows on the vertical as opposed to side-to-side. If you would like to make the throw wider, we recommend adding repeats in your favorite panel(s) until you have added the width you like. For example, you could add another repeat of rows 66-69 and 87-91 in the Popcorn Heats section if you just want to add just a few more inches to the overall width. You might consider making an Arrow Pattern doubled on each side of the Popcorn Hearts section to add just a little more width. To widen the Popcorn Pattern, add another repeat of rows 15-22. To widen the Diamond Pattern, repeat rows 34-41. Enjoy making it your own!
10 days agoHelpful?Q: Row 2 says to slip stitch across, but in the video, Mikey says to single crochet across. Which is it?
17 days ago1 AnswerA: We suggest you work the pattern as written, but as a maker, you are always welcome to make changes to the pattern. We will let the design team know about this discrepancy between the pattern and the video. Thanks for letting us know! Here is the video tutorial created by the designer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjmWE5t790w&list=PLoIugZBYOS0U7GkNeh1ZlD2fLxjMckrKn&index=2
11 days agoHelpful?Q: I do not know how to Crochet I've had friends trying to teach me Yikes I don't knit with needles but I can Loom knit Please is there a way to have a Pattern for Loom knitting this Beautiful Afghan of yours ?
a month ago1 AnswerA: We appreciate that you like the Aran Hearts Throw afghan. However, rewriting a pattern from crochet to work for a knitting loom is quite complex and beyond the scope of services we are able to provide. You might want to consider finding a pattern specifically designed for loom knitting. We wish you all the best in however you move forward.
a month agoHelpful?Q: The pattern isn't giving clear yardage, what is the yardage usage on this?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Per the pattern - 9 O'Gos which are 364 yards each = 3,276 yards total.
a year agoHelpful?Q: Modele français
a year ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, our patterns are only available in the English language at this time however you are free to translate patterns shown on our site for your personal use. Happy crafting!
a year agoHelpful?Q: Is the pattern terminology American or British please
a year ago1 AnswerA: It is US terminology.
a year agoHelpful?Q: Can this pattern be modified to not include the hearts
a year ago1 AnswerA: Absolutely. You can leave all the stitches in that area as stockinette or replace them with seed stitch. but if you choose to add a different pattern that has a specific number of stitches we would not be able to confirm whether it would work in place of the heart.
a year agoHelpful?Q: Please clarify. What rows does one change from small to large hook and back? Also what hook size is to be used for edging, woven stitch, and shell edging? Thanks
a year ago1 AnswerA: You will change hooks as instructed throughout the pattern: Start with the smaller hook Change to larger hook. 10th row Change to smaller hook. 25th row Popcorn Hearts See diagram on page 5. Change to smaller hook. Next Set of Popcorn, Front Ridges, and Arrows Change to larger hook and use this for the edging as well. We hope this helps!
a year agoHelpful?Q: Change yarn type - if I substitute Bernat maker home dec yarn, what size hooks do you recommend me to use? I understand that the blanket will be bigger
2 years ago1 AnswerA: Here is the gauge information for Bernat Maker Home Dec: Gauge: 5 Bulky Chunky Knitting Gauge: 13 sts and 17 rows with a 8 mm (U.S. 11) knitting needle Crochet Gauge: 10 sc and 11 rows with a 8 mm (U.S. L/11) crochet hook
2 years agoHelpful?Q: Can this be made bigger?
2 years ago1 AnswerA: Thank you for your question about the Aran Hearts Throw. You could make this throw bigger, but it is not a straight forward matter of adding more stitches. Any enlargement would require a pattern rewrite. If you like, you could determine the number of stitches needed for a particular section, and add a repeat of any of the individual sections. Another choice would be to make a larger border around some or all of these edges, We hope this gives you a few ideas. Happy crocheting
