Questions
Start typing your question and we'll check if it was already asked and answered.1 - 5 of 5 QuestionsQ: On row 1 where are my cables supposed to start and end? When I do the cr4b that looks right but when I get to the cr4b it looks out of place
5 days ago1 AnswerA: Your Must-Have Knit Cardigan incorporates two different cable patterns, Panel Pat A and Panel Pat B, into both the front and back of the cardigan. The Cr4B and Cr4F are a part of Panel B. Those cables are placed in row 1 and are worked in almost- (not row 13) every odd number row of that Panel Pattern. It may take a few rows for the cables to really form and look good. The cables are supported by the stitches that surround them. We encourage you to work a few more rows. Please make sure you are working these stitches correctly (note that these are different from standard cable, where half the stitches are placed on the cable needle): Cr4B = Slip the next stitch onto the cable needle and leave it at the back of the work. K3, then P1 from cable needle. Cr4F = Slip next 3 stitches onto cable needle and leave at front of work. P1, then K3 from cable needle. Let's take a look at where those stitches are specifically used. When working the back, and looking at the first row: 1st row: (RS). K1. (P1. K1) 6 (7-9-12-15-19) times. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. The Cr4B and Cr4F are used in this next section, that we've expanded all the stitches for you. If we substitute the first row of the Panel Pat B- this will read- (K3. Work 1st row Panel Pat B) twice. >>>or written out: K3, P2. Cr4F. (P1. K1) 5 times. P1. Cr4B. P2. K3, P2. Cr4F. (P1. K1) 5 times. P1. Cr4B. P2. K3. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. (K1. P1) 6 (7-9-12-15-19) times. K1. It will be important that you work each stitch as described and note that the cables will move in subsequent rows, meaning that they will not be stacked one on top of the next. We hope this gives you what you need to move ahead with your project. Happy knitting!
15 hours agoHelpful?Q: Row 26 panel B ends on a row 2. Starting the pattern on row I adds an additional row to the cables and wrapped stitch patterns. Is that correct ?
Anonymousa year ago1 AnswerA: When you have finished working the last the row 26 of the Panel Pat B, which does end with a row 2, your next row will be the 1st row: (RS). P2. Cr4F. (P1. K1) 5 times. P1. Cr4B. P2. on the Must Have Knit Cardigan. So, yes. It is correct. You will be starting the next repeat of the larger X panel pattern. Sometimes it can take knitting a few more rows to see how the pattern comes together. Trust the pattern :-) You've got this!
a year agoHelpful?Q: Do I start the pattern repeat from row 1 or row 3. I’m confused as the stitches aren’t working out for me
Anonymousa year ago1 AnswerA: For your Must Have Knit Cardigan, the pattern repeats all begin with row 1. Pattern A is an 8 row pattern repeat, and Pattern B is a 26 row repeat. The schematic can be a very useful tool to see how the rows and stitches should line up. I find placing markers between the stitch patterns to be very helpful. If you still need additional help, please send some more specific details as to your situation to inquire@yarnspirations.com, as well as a well-lit photo showing the area of concern.
a year agoHelpful?Q: Shape top sleeve in size XL After 2 rows decreasing 8 st each the next 2 rows must repeat until there are 41 st. But is that right??? The pattern is counting down for the sizes: 39 (39-33-41-31-23). Shouldn't it be 31 (or something like that?) Thank you
a year ago1 AnswerA: While it does seem counterintuitive to have more stitches on that size, it's accurate. Part of it has to do with the fact that the XL starts off with more stitches in this section than the other sizes (even though our brains want to default to consecutive numbers for each additional size, not all patterns work out that way) and part of it has to do with the required number of stitches in order to maintain the stitch pattern. You'll notice in the next section the stitch count balances out in a way that seems more intuitive/natural. I hope that gets you back on track and you're able to finish your project!
a year agoHelpful?Q: What are the bust sizes for the other sizes? Is there any ease?
a year ago1 AnswerA: Per the pattern, the ease changes as the sizes go up. Which is actually nice, because extra ease in a small size, looks nice. Extra ease in a larger size tends to not look as nice. But you can adjust by changing the size you make to increase or decrease the ease to your chosen finished size.
