9 months agoHelpful?Q: Switch weight of yarn: I would love to make the Bernat Squishy Fisherman's Rib Knit blanket that calls for Bernat Softee Chunky, which is a 6. Can I knit with two balls of Bernat Linen, which is a 3, instead?
10 months ago2 AnswersA: Hi. You might be able to achieve gauge working 2 strands, but the fabric will have a very different look and texture. Linen doesn't have a halo & usually takes a while of use & washing to soften, at which point, it's very drapey. Softee has a lot of loft [squishiness] & it's not nearly as drapey. So, it's a question of whether these differences are acceptable to you. HTH. GL.
