    Can't believe it has holes

Save your time on this one! The yarn overs after being dropped as per the pattern still has holes in the piece! This one I have taken apart and am going to use the yarn for something else.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello and thanks for your comments on the Caron Mosaic Knit Tunic! I'm sorry to hear you found the pattern frustrating. It relies heavily on gauge, so any deviations from the one stated in the design will result in a different look. I wanted to make sure I had a firm grasp on the issue you mentioned so I went ahead and I swatched it. The amount of slack that wrapping the yarn twice gives is just enough to allow for slipping that stitch in the following two rows. I noticed that if I was more casual in my wrapping (i.e., looser), then I did have a more obvious gap in the following rows. I had to be aware of how much give I was creating for it to lay the way it needed to. This is also going to benefit greatly from washing/blocking the end item. If you decide you want to give it another go, I would suggest swatching in the mosaic pattern itself (the pattern does call for it to be done that way but sometimes we gloss over that in our excitement to start something new) and then washing it to get a good idea of how it'll behave for you. Mosaic patterns can be a bit like lace and aren't the most gorgeous thing until they've been properly washed. I hope that whatever pattern you've moved on to is smooth sailing and that you'll give this one another shot later on!
