Then 4 off the next row. Am I casting off 5 for each side of the front or 5 for one side and then knitting the whole row and then 4 on the next side? Neither way seems right.
a month ago2 AnswersA: Thanks, I ended up casting off what I feel to twice the amount that it said so that both sides of the front could have the neck shaped instead of just one side every other row as that would not have been enough. It’s hard to explain.
29 days agoHelpful?Q: Hi. I'm struggling to figure out what o do after the 3 garter rows, where I have to cast off 2 stitches and add new ball..

2 months agoHelpful?Q: Please explain this: Proceed in stocking st, inc 1 st each end of every 4th (4th-6th-6th) row 5 (5-4-6) times, then every following 6th (6th-8th-8th) row 4 (5-3-2) times more. 43 (47-47-51) sts
3 months ago1 AnswerA: For your Fun and Flouncy Knit Cardigan, you are increasing two stitches each time, one at each end of the row. This will give you double the number of stitches, 10 from the first five repeats and another eight from the next four repeats, for a total of 18; adding 18 to your original 25 gets you to 43. If you have further questions, please email us at inquire@yarnspirations.com so we can gather more information to assist you better.
3 months agoHelpful?Q: Apologies. I didn't explain my question correctly. At the sleeves, I increased I stich every 4 rows 5 times, and then 1 stich every 6 rows 4 times, but came to 34 stitches and not 43. Am I understanding it wrong??

3 months agoHelpful?Q: “Working both fronts at the same time with separate balls of yarn” etc, do I work across all stitches? How to work both fronts at the same time unless I knit the back stitches? Or do I put the back stitches on stitch holder or waste yarn? Pictures please?
7 months ago1 AnswerA: You will be placing the stitches for the back on a stitch holder so you can work both sides of the front of your Fun and Flouncy Cardigan. Here is the set-up: Divide for armholes: Next row: (RS). *Knit to 1 st before marker. Remove marker. Join a 2nd ball of yarn and cast off 2 sts. You have just knit one side of the front. Now you knit across the back stitches until one stitch before the next maker, and put the stitches you just knit on a stitch holder or waste yarn. You do not need to attach a third ball of yarn (those instructions come later in the pattern when you work the back.) Using the same second ball of yarn, Knit to 1 st before marker. Remove marker and cast off 2 sts. Knit to end of row. 24 (26-28-31) sts for each Front and 48 (52-56-62) sts for Back Feel free to email inquire@yarnspirations.com if you have further questions.
7 months agoHelpful?Q: Q:" These directions make no sense when it comes to the Divide for armholes: Nest Row: Can anyone explain? " I have the same question as the other knitter. However the answer wasn't posted. Please explain the decrease.
a year ago1 AnswerA: The markers for the Caron Fun and Flouncy Knit Cardigan separate the front panels (30 sts) from the armholes and back panel stitches. For the “Divide for armholes: Next row: (RS),” note that it is a right side row and you’re beginning at the right front panel (as shown in the sample photo). “ *Knit to 1 st before marker. Remove marker. Join a 2nd ball of yarn and cast off 2 sts.” You will knit to 1 stitch before the marker. Remove the marker. Join a second ball of yarn and cast off 2 stitches. Do not cut the first ball of yarn. Use this new ball to knit to 1 stitch before the next marker. Join a third ball of yarn and cast off 2 stitches. Do not cut the second ball of yarn. “Knit to end of row. 24 (26-28-31) sts for each Front and 48 (52-56-62) sts for Back.” “Working both Fronts at same time with separate balls of yarn, cont in stocking st until armhole measures 3 (3-3-3½)" [7.5 (7.5-7.5-9) cm], ending on a purl row for Right Front or a knit row for Left Front.” I hope this is just the clarification you need to move forward with confidence. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need help in the future. Happy knitting!
