3 months agoWhat a great little sweater! I followed the measurement and it fits my pup perfectly. I have to admit that I was confused by the instructions at first, but trusted the process and was not disappointed. The one part of the instructions that is missing is the final joining of the sweater at the end. I knew it needed to be done and used a simple slip stitch, but a beginner may not know how to do that. I used red yarn, but then added some white embellishment to the collar and arms. I plan to make more in various colors.Yes, I recommend this product.

5 months agoNow I’m not sure why this is rated as an easy patter. I’m not a beginner. I have used patterns for cardigans, blankets, dolls and many more and never had a problem. This pattern was difficult to follow. I gave up because I was doing arm holes and the project didn’t look right. I will just find another pattern. No, I do not recommend this product.

We are here if you ever need help with a pattern. Easy patterns are more difficult than beginner patterns, but they do not have any advanced stitches used that move them into an intermediate pattern. a year agoPlease supply more information in your pattern, such as which part of the pattern is the neck, which is the back end. These patterns are marked “easy” and there are a lot of things that new crocheters don’t know so they need lots of details. Also, why does this pattern jump from 16” to 24”? There are many dogs out there who measure in the middle of those numbers and it is very difficult for people who are just learning to figure out how to adjust for their pet’s size. Also, does chest size refer to circumference of the chest because when I used the XL sizing for my 20” chest circumference dog, the sweater was WAY too big. And I mean WAY too big. It’s very confusing!! I had to start this pattern over 4 times before I was able to figure it out and I am not a rank beginner. No, I do not recommend this product.
Helpful?Quality of Product, 1.0 out of 5Value of Product, 1.0 out of 5Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareThank you for your feedback regarding the Bernat Crochet Dog Coat. We are sorry to learn of your struggles with the pattern. The dog coat begins at the neck and is worked to the back. The Bernat Crochet Dog Coat comes in four sizes which are determined upon the chest circumference of the dog it is to be made for: S: 10”; M: 13”; L: 16”; XL: 20”. The outcome of each of these sizes is dependent upon the crocheter matching one’s own gauge (tension) to that of the pattern. Otherwise, one can make a coat too large or too small (and even run out of yarn too soon). GAUGE 7 sts and 6 rows = 4" [10cm] in pat. While this particular design does not have an additional size written between the chest circumferences 16-inches and 20-inches, we do offer a wide variety of dog coat patterns from which to choose; each offering its own range of sizes. We hope this information is helpful to you. If you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are always happy to help! Have a great day! -
