8 months agoI downloaded this pattern a week ago and there are some issues with it. I had to Google some of the stitches and I cannot for the life of me find them. The MB (bobble eyelet st) is not what is described in the instructions, so I think the stitch in the instructions is mislabeled because it isn't an MB. The Tw5B stitch doesn't appear to exist on the Internet, I couldn't find a tutorial anywhere. The instructions don't say what to do with the 3rd st on the knitting cable. Does it sit there forever? Do I purl it or knit it? The instructions don't say and it's very confusing, so I've been purling it. I hope it turns out ok with my doing that. I've been knitting for decades and I've never had this happen, I've always been able to find a tutorial for a stitch. It's a beautiful pattern and I'm going to continue making it, but so far it's been more difficult than I think it should be. It's like the author made up stitches or there are typos that were overlooked. I haven't even finished the back panel for the poncho, so I hope there aren't anymore issues throughout the rest of the instructions. No, I do not recommend this product.
Helpful?Quality of Product, 2.0 out of 5Value of Product, 2.0 out of 5Response from Yarnspirations:8 months agoConsumer CareWe're sorry to hear about your frustration with the Blanket Poncho and Bag pattern. Often designers will create new stitches for a particular pattern, and then describe them in the stitch glossary at the start (or end) of a pattern. Let's take a look at your questions one at a time: The MB stitch is to be worked as defined by the designer. We understand that the designer chose to do something different here than how others have defined this stitch and as it is shown on the internet. As a maker, however, you are always welcome to chose to substitute a different version of MB. For the Tw5B , slip next 3 sts onto a cable needle and leave at back of work. Knit the next 2 stitches, now, from the cable needle- P1. K2. This is how to work these three stitches. We appreciate that you took the time to contact us. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions. -
