Please help as this is a nice looking cardigan and I would like to make it. Just need better input for me.

2 months agoHelpful?Q: Is there any corrections to this pattern? On the back, once I complete the first 16 row and make the first decrease, when I work Row 9, my stitch count is incorrect. Have made numerous attempts at this pattern.
a year ago1 AnswerA: Hello and thanks for reaching out! The lace pattern for this pattern shifts as you work the shaping. Since the decreases happen at both ends in the "k4" section, the shift will happen there. After the first set of decreases, you'll do a K3 (instead of K4). After the second set, you'll work a K2 and so on. I strongly suggest using a stitch marker at both ends for these sections at the very least. It'll help create a visual reminder that lets you know you'll simply knit the available stitches.
